Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was pretty banged up all throughout the playoffs en route to leading his team to a Super Bowl LV appearance this season. He is still nursing a toe injury but it seems like he will be ready to suit up on Sunday, barring any unforeseen circumstances leading up to game day, as per Pro Football Talk.

The main headline of the Chiefs' divisional round encounter against the Cleveland Browns was Mahomes entering the concussion protocol after the game. In the third quarter of the tilt, the star quarterback was tackled by opposing linebacker Mack Wilson in the midst of rushing on third-and-1 which left him in pain on the ground.

However, the 25-year-old also sustained a toe injury which kept him limping for quite a while in the earlier parts of the game. Apparently, his toe injury kept him on the injury report way after he has already been cleared from the concussion protocol.

Nonetheless, Mahomes still managed to proceed in the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills in the following week. He didn't play like he was in pain at all and even racked up a total of 325 passing yards on 29-of-38 passing along with three touchdowns. The Chiefs eventually snagged a convincing victory in a 38-24 decision over the Bills to book their ticket to Super Bowl LV.

As it stands today, it seems like his toe injury won't be an issue in the championship game, given how he played in last week's AFC title contest. Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs will aim to defend their Super Bowl crown against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Feb. 7.
