The Green Bay Packers are coming off a campaign missing the playoff for the first time in nearly a decade, which has pushed the franchise to make some notable roster changes this NFL offseason.

This has also pushed a new feel to the practice field with the addition of new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine and coaching staff that star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has already been quick to notice, which is something that he is ready to embrace, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

It is a different feel that Rodgers isn't necessarily accustomed to, but this change in philosophy for the franchise on defense could help them take a necessary step forward to not only compete for a playoff spot. Green Bay is coming off a disappointing season that saw them struggle to find a level of consistency on both sides of the ball that may have largely been due to Rodgers missing a significant chunk of the season due to a broken collarbone.

The 33-year-old's absence didn't allow for the Packers to get on track to make a serious playoff push in the second half of the season. With Rodgers back in the fold finally healthy from his shoulder injury, it should help the franchise get back on track this upcoming season.

In the meantime, the changes that the team has undergone this offseason could be what Green Bay needed in order to push things in the right direction.
