The AFC Championship Game rematch between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New England Patriots will be one of the marquee matchups of Week 2 in the NFL. And unsurprisingly, this matchup between two AFC contenders is expected to be a close contest.

According to the latest odds from BetOnline.ag, the Patriots have are a pick against the spread on the road against the Jaguars.

As John Breech of CBS Sports notes, if this current line doesn't change, it'll be the first time the Patriots haven't been favored to win a game since Week 2 of the 2016 season.

Although, it should be noted that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn't even playing in that game. You'd have to go all the way back to Week 11 of the 2014 season to find the last time the Patriots were an underdog in a game Brady featured in. They ended up handing the Colts a 42-20 clobbering despite being 3-point dogs.

The Jaguars likely aren’t considered outright favorites at home because of the uncertainty surrounding Leonard Fournette. The star running back still hasn’t practiced this week due to the hamstring injury he suffered in Week 1 against the Giants. He considers himself a “game-time decision” against the Patriots.

Meanwhile, the Patriots also have their own injury concerns in the backfield. Rex Burkhead is currently in the concussion protocol, while rookie Sony Michel remains limited due to his knee issue.

But the Pats still have Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, which will remain a handful for the Jaguars’ league-best defense to stop. Even with significant question marks surrounding their running backs and wide receivers, it will still take a brave soul to bet against Brady and the Patriots.
