The New England Patriots are in the news for all the wrong reasons once again with the NFL playoffs well underway. A report about the tension between Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft, and Tom Brady surfaced recently that has some wondering if an end of an era of dominant Patriots football is around the corner.

If what was reported by ESPN turns out to be true, Brady played a role in getting Jimmy Garoppolo traded while Belichick was more inclined to part with the five-time Super Bowl champion. Kraft sided with his longtime quarterback and forced the trade of Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers.

Dallas Cowboys legend and current NFL analyst Troy Aikman recently talked about the situation in New England and gave his opinion on what may be happening with the Patriots, via The MMQB.

Denials and conflicting reports have come out as a result with no one in New England happy about what has transpired. Kraft is reportedly livid about the report from ESPN and may choose to speak publicly about his discontent.

As for Aikman, the three-time Super Bowl champion broke it down in the simplest way possible and it makes a lot of sense. Tension happens in businesses and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but the real story is whether this supposed tension will end up fracturing a franchise that has been the most successful in the NFL for nearly two decades.

Although Belichick has stated that he wants to remain in New England next season, there's no telling what will happen when it is all said and done. One thing is for sure, we likely haven't heard the end of this story as it may get that much more interesting if the team doesn't repeat as Super Bowl champions.
