Perhaps the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers have internal problems, including their head coach on shaky ground. Furthermore, Pat Freiermuth disputed Aaron Rodgers’ claim about players missing film sessions, according to a post on X by Brooke Pryor.

“Pat Freiermuth said there's no issue with attendance at film reviews: “Everyone shows up and everyone contributes in a positive manner. I think he was just more so talking about being on the same page with signals and stuff. We don't have an issue with guys not showing up.”

What a mess. Of course, it likely starts with Aaron Rodgers.

Asked by reporters how to increase production in the passing game, Rodgers said this: “When there’s film sessions, everyone shows up. When I check to a route, run the right route.”

But what does it mean when a player takes issue with the team’s supposed leader? It’s not a good look for head coach Mike Tomlin. He’s already under fire for the terrible shortsighted trade of George Pickens. And the team is crumbling after a 4-1 start.

Yes, Tomlin hasn’t had a losing season in his NFL career. But that may change this year, despite the addition of Rodgers. It’s one to hire an aging quarterback to get through a season or two. But when the quarterback is Rodgers, when things go wrong, it’s not a good thing for the team.

Tomlin said he understands the issues, according to NBC Sports via the Associated Press.

“In general, I agree with them, from this perspective: Football is our game, we’re in a sport entertainment business,” Tomlin said. “And so if you root for the Steelers, entertaining them is winning. And so when you’re not winning, it’s not entertaining.”

Things could get better in a hurry if the Steelers find a way to beat the Ravens on Sunday. But that's a tall order given the current situation.
