Denver Nuggets rookie Bol Bol played in his first NBA game on Wednesday against the Washington Wizards and he made his presence felt immediately.

The youngster finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks for the Nuggets, who defeated the Wizards by a final score of 89-82.

After his random drug test, Bol spoke with reporters about his stellar debut, as did Denver head coach Michael Malone.

“Really just getting to play after so long, because I’ve been waiting a long time, just working hard and waiting for this moment,” the Nuggets youngster said, via Mike Singer of the Denver Post.

“For [Bol] to go out there and get 16 [points], 10 [boards] and six blocks is great,” Malone said after the game. “He is only going to get better. He did a lot of good things, [I'm] proud of him.”

Against the Wizards, Bol became the first rookie to have at least 15 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in a preseason game in the last 20 years. It's early, but the Nuggets may have found their next gem.

At Oregon last season, Bol averaged 21.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 2.7 blocks per game. He's the son of the late Manute Bol.

The Nuggets drafted the 20-year-old with the 44th overall pick in the 2019 draft. He would have been a lottery pick had he not underwent surgery to repair a left foot fracture in January.
