Should Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets make it to the NBA playoffs, they could very well get a major boost in Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray.

According to the latest report by Adrian Wojnarowski of EPN (via Ryan Blackburn of SB Nation), the Nuggets are hopeful they can get MPJ and Murray back before the season ends. This is certainly big news, especially for Porter Jr.'s part since he was initially expected to miss the rest of the season.

Jamal Murray has long been expected to return this season after suffering from a torn ACL late in 2020-21. There's no timetable given for his recovery, but based on Woj's report, he is progressing decently.

As for Michael Porter Jr., he underwent surgery for what was reported to be a nerve issue in his back. Several back issues have bothered MPJ since his collegiate year, so his latest injury unsurprisingly raised concerns about his long-term health.

As mentioned, there were expectations Porter Jr. could miss the rest of the season. Fortunately, by the looks of it, he has made significant strides in his recovery.

It can be said that Murray and Porter Jr. are the no. 2 and 3 offensive options for the Nuggets, so their potential return will only help the Nuggets in their bid to make, and possibly win, the NBA Finals.
