Some good news for Dallas Cowboys fans. While Monday started out with reports that several players on both the Cowboys and Texans, including star running back Ezekiel Elliott, have tested positive for COVID-19, reports have since come out that quarterback Dak Prescott is not one of the infected.
A report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and subsequent confirmation from Jon Machota of The Athletic have stated that Prescott tested negative.
The COVID-19, or Novel Coronavirus, pandemic has been sweeping the world and the United States for the past six months, primarily affecting the US since February. The threat of the virus caused all sports to shut down in March and no team sports have restarted play in the US since.
While the NFL does have contingency plans in place in case it is not possible to return to play, the league has been pushing ahead as though they are playing as scheduled in August and September.

For Dak Prescott, while this news is good for Cowboy fans, the elephant in the room still looms over his future. Prescott and owner Jerry Jones have not been able to agree on a new deal yet, with neither side seeming to want to budge, and the clock is ticking.
Monday marks the one-month deadline for the two sides to reach an agreement on a long term deal and many insiders do not expect that to happen. What will happen next is anyone's guess, with many thinking the fifth-year standout could hold out for a new contract, leaving the Cowboys in a very tough situation.
So while the negative test is a positive sign for fans of his, the Prescott saga is far from over.
