According to head coach Billy Donovan, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar point guard Russell Westbrook did not practice with the team on Saturday due to a sore shoulder, Erik Horne of The Oklahoman reports.
Billy Donovan said Russell Westbrook did not practice today due to a sore shoulder. Donovan did not specify which shoulder, or what Westbrook’s availability will be for Sunday vs. Phoenix.

Donovan did not identify which shoulder was injured, and did not hint when the injury occurred. Westbrook's availability for Sunday's game against the Phoenix Suns is still up in the air.
The 2016-17 NBA MVP missed the Thunder's first two games of the season while recovering from knee surgery in the off-season. Westbrook made his season debut against the Sacramento Kings, where he tallied 32 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists in 35 minutes. His second game came against the Boston Celtics, where he scored just 13 points, but grabbed 15 rebounds and dished out 8 assists in 32 minutes.
Westbrook's return did not seem to help out the Thunder as they still remain without a win on the young season. Oklahoma City looks to change that when they face the rebuilding Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.
This injury almost comes out of nowhere as Westbrook hasn't been playing with a minutes restriction upon his return and has looked relatively healthy.
If Russell Westbrook sits out Sunday's game with the Suns, All-Star forward Paul George will once again be the lead man for Thunder, as they try to pick-up their first win on the year. Moreover, backup point guard Dennis Schroder will once again fill in the starter's role for the Thunder.
Regardless if Westbrook suits up or not, this is a must-win for Oklahoma City, as they do not want to fall to 0-5 to start the season.
