The New England Patriots quarterback battle is likely going to go down until the final week before the start of the regular season. Cam Newton vs Mac Jones is perhaps the most intriguing position battle in the NFL. But, Newton doesn't have any clue on who has the upper hand and insists he hasn't been told anything regarding the situation.

Recently, Newton got a bit snarky with reporters when asked about the situation, according to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk.

“Y’all sitting up here asking silly questions to me and I’m looking at y’all with the same thing. I don’t know what y’all want me to say…You know, you know that. You know he hasn’t said that, so for you to just ask the question, it is what it is.”

In hindsight, Newton has a point. But, perhaps he is a little frustrated due to the impressive debut of Jones, who was selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft to be pegged as the next Patriots franchise quarterback. The former Alabama quarterback went 13-19 for 87 yards while Newton went 4-7 for 49 yards in less run than Jones.

There is a lot of time remaining until opening week, so the battle between Newton and Jones likely won't get any clarity for some time. For the time being, stay away from asking Cam any questions like that.
