New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was emotional after the teams win over the Kansas City Chiefs and a big reason why was because the future Hall of Famer thought the odds were stacked against them.
“The odds were stacked against us,” Brady said per Mike Reiss of ESPN. “It hasn't been that way for us for a while. It certainly was this year. We started off so slow.”
Even with all the success that Tom Brady has had throughout the years, he isn't wrong saying the odds were stacked against him this year. Most were saying that Brady was having a down year and there was no way they were going to go into Kansas City and beat this year Patrick Mahomes and this year's Chiefs team.
Brady also admitted after the game that it was extra sweet going into Arrowhead Stadium and pulling off the upset.
“When you have 70,000 people cheering against you, it's pretty sweet when you win on the road. That's a hard thing to do in the NFL. It's certainly a hard thing to do against the first-ranked team in the conference who has been playing great all year, and has certainly been playing great at home. We knew it was going to take a lot. It took some great plays and some great conversions, and just proud of us getting the job done.”
Even with the down year one thing was proven again, don't bet against Brady when it comes to the playoffs.
