Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will play their penultimate preseason game against the Carolina Panthers on the road. The team is also tagging along one intriguing individual in the form of Alex Guerrero, Brady’s trainer.

According to Michael Giardi of the NFL Network, Guerrero is on the same plane that’s taking the Patriots to Carolina on Thursday. This is noteworthy since it was not that long ago when New England head coach Bill Belichick limited Guerrero’s access to the team, which fueled rumors the reported rift between Belichick and Brady last season.

If Belichick has indeed grown more lenient on Guerrero’s presence near the team, then it could be taken as a sign of him patching things up with Tom Brady.

Aside from being Brady’s trainer, Alex Guerrero also serves as the quarterback’s business partner, as the two are the minds behind the TB12 Method.

The Patriots have gone undefeated through two games in the preseason. They are coming off a 37-20 win at home over the Philadelphia Eagles in a game where Brady showed he’s ready to go for his 19th season in the NFL by playing the entire first half. It’s uncertain whether Brady will play as much again this Friday, but he’s still expected to see action during the dress rehearsal. Against the Eagles, Brady completed 19-of-26 passes for 172 yards to go with a couple of touchdowns.

The Patriots are 4-2 in their last six preseason games on the road, dating back to 2015.
