Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the league. He is currently averaging 28.1 points and 11.1 rebounds per game while shooting 53 percent from the field and 36 percent from deep. Davis' unique style of shooting, versatility, and post-game play has allowed him to dominate the league. When he's healthy, Davis ranks among the league's best scorers.

Though, so far, he hasn't led the Pelicans past the first round of the playoffs. In 2015, Davis did all he could to lead the Pelicans to the postseason, but they ended up getting swept by the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately for the Pelicans, success has been hard to come by. However, Davis is starting to prove that things can change by posting brilliant numbers that have translated to wins recently.

Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry truly believes in his superstar power forward. He has even went as far as to comparing Davis to NFL quarterback Tom Brady, per Jim Eichenhofer of Pelicans.com.

Alvin Gentry on how much #Pelicans miss Anthony Davis when he can't play: “Just think Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, with him not on the (field). I think that would be a good comparison. He opens up the game for everyone, really.”

Davis has a chance to prove himself this year. The Pelicans are currently ranked fourth in the Western Conference. If they secure homecourt advantage, the Pelicans could be poised for a deep postseason run. Brady is well known throughout the sports world for winning five Super Bowl championships. Hopefully, Davis can turn the tables in his career and start building a legacy for himself.
