In their Christmas day win over the Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram knocked down a career-best seven 3-pointers.

In their 112-100 upset win over the Nuggets, Ingram tallied 31 points and seven rebounds. He shot 11-of-18 from the field and 7-of-9 from deep. Safe to say that he's the main reason why the Pelicans got the surprise against the Nuggets — who are considered legitimate title contenders.

The 2019-20 season has been Brandon's breakout year. He's averaging 25.0 points per game (13th in the league), along with 7.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. He's shooting at an efficient clip: 48.5 from the field, 84.4 from the free-throw line, and 38.8 from deep. Analysts believe that he's in the running for Most Improved Player of the Year.

Ingram has definitely proven to everyone why he was the second overall pick back in the 2016 NBA Draft. He showed signs of greatness during his time in Los Angeles. But back then, the team was just trying to find its identity following the retirement of the great Kobe Bryant. And when LeBron James donned the Purple and Gold, Ingram had to take a step back to complement the four-time MVP's playstyle. Now with the Pelicans, Ingram has finally found his way. It won't soon before Ingram enters the MVP discussion.
