Lonzo Ball saved the day for the New Orleans Pelicans against the Indiana Pacers on Friday. In the crucial juncture of the fourth period of the close match between the two teams at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the 23-year-old playmaker made a beautiful defensive stop versus Myles Turner.

The Pacers center had a clear look to the paint after blowing by Pels defender Steven Adams. But Ball came over to help and contested the shot attempt without fouling, forcing Turner to adjust his shot mid-air. Despite the size disparity between the two, Ball successfully prevented what could have been the game-winning shot for Indy.

Apart from that magnificent defensive play, Lonzo Ball also had an all-around performance for the road team, finishing with 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and one steal. He made seven of his 13 field goals including five massive hits from downtown that really buoyed the squad during Indiana's fourth-quarter run.

Much has been said about Ball's offensive limitations over the years, but his size and length at his position certainly make him a pretty good defender.

Despite the solid numbers he's been putting up for NOLA in his second year with the team, his name is still on the trade block simply because he's not the superstar everyone thought he'll be when he was picked second overall in 2017. Nevertheless, if he continues to make winning plays and shoot the ball with confidence, Lonzo Ball will be a productive player, whether for the Pelicans or wherever he ends up.
