The New Orleans Pelicans, shooting guard JJ Redick and his wife Chelsea have announced a partnership with Lineage Logistics.

Lineage Logistics is the world’s largest and most innovative provider of temperature-controlled food logistics. The company is also working with Anthony Davis.

The Pelicans and the Redicks' donation will provide over 1.8 million meals to the New Orleans community, which is a bit of good news for the area.

The Pelicans, the Redicks and Lineage announced a donation through Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization, to support Second Harvest Food Bank, a local nonprofit organization leading the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food and support to 700+ community partners and programs across 23 parishes. The donation will provide more than 1.8 million meals to those in need throughout the New Orleans community in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Chelsea and I are so grateful to the New Orleans community for graciously welcoming our family with open arms,” said JJ Redick. “We feel incredibly fortunate to partner with Second Harvest Food Bank in order to provide meals to individuals and families that need them during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the team at Lineage Logistics for offering their resources to bring additional meals and jobs to the New Orleans area.”

Redick is in his first season with the Pelicans, but he's already becoming a fan favorite with acts like this.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended, Redick was averaging 14.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 45.0 percent from the field, 45.2 percent from beyond the arc and 90.2 percent from the free-throw line. He appeared in 54 games.

The Pelicans are hoping the season resumes since they were fighting for that eighth spot in the West. New Orleans looked like a different team with rookie Zion Williamson in the lineup. The Pelicans were 10-9 when Zion played.

To recall, Williamson missed the beginning of the season after undergoing left knee surgery just right before the regular season began.
