New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson just marked another historic milestone on Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs. The 20-year-old has now earned a spot alongside all-time greats such as Rick Barry and Elgin Baylor following his latest scoring feat.

Zion is now tied with Barry and Baylor as the 10th fastest player to reach the 2,000-point mark in his career. Here's a look at Williamson playing bully ball to score a historic bucket (h/t Yahoo Sports on Twitter):

We also cannot overlook the fact that Zion has once again been mentioned in the same breath with the GOAT, Michael Jordan.

This achievement is yet another testament to just how much of a potent force Williamson has been to start his NBA career. It is also important to note that injuries were a major hurdle for him in his rookie campaign last season. He was on a strict minutes limit for pretty much his entire rookie year which obviously had an effect on his scoring output. It would not be improbable to think that he would have reached the 2,000-mark much quicker had it not been for his limitations early on.

It's been a different story this season for Zion, though. It looks like the Pelicans have let him loose, and he is now putting up 26.9 points (on 61.8 percent shooting), 7.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 32.9 minutes per game. He's been healthy for the most part of the campaign, which also speaks volumes of his durability as a player.

This is clearly just the beginning for Zion Williamson as there's no denying that the future is extremely bright for this young gentleman.
