The New Orleans Pelicans are in the Bay Area Sunday facing the defending NBA champions, Golden State Warriors. The Pelicans arrive at Oracle Arena riding a three-game win streak, so they have every reason to feel confident of themselves regardless if they’re playing against the best team on the planet today.

Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins personified the team’s swag at least on one play when he stuffed Warriors forward Andre Iguodala’s dunk attempt in the first half of the contest.

Iguodala probably even had flashbacks of that famous block he received from LeBron James during Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals when Cousins met him in midair.

And just to add a little flavor to what he just did, Cousins channeled his inner Dikembe Mutombo after making the block, waving his finger as if to say “Not in my house.”

Cousins is always going to be more of an offensive force than an imposing rim protector. That said, the former Kentucky Wildcat isn’t too shabby when it comes to defending around the basket, as Cousins is averaging 1.4 blocks per game this season. He is also putting up 26.1 points and 12.9 rebounds per contest.

Cousins and the Pelicans head back home after the Warriors game for a match against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
