The Lonzo Ball-Zion Williamson connection is already looking pretty good for the New Orleans Pelicans.

Ball and Williamson connected on an alley-oop at Pelicans practice on Wednesday. What's more impressive is that it came off an inbounds play. Take a look:

At Duke last season, Zion Williamson was jumping out of the gym seemingly every night. The No. 1 overall pick figures to put on a show for Pelicans fans this season.

Williamson averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game at Duke while shooting 68.0 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 64.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pelicans, led by David Griffin, have done a good job of surrounding Williamson with veterans who will take some of the pressure and spotlight off him. New Orleans has Jrue Holiday, JJ Redick, Derrick Favors and E'Twaun Moore on the roster.

Lonzo Ball has career averages of 10.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 99 NBA games. The 21-year-old is already an elite perimeter defender, but he’s going to have to become a better shooter on the Pelicans.

Ball shot just 38.0 percent from the field, 31.5 percent from beyond the arc and 43.7 percent from the free-throw line in his first two seasons in the league.

As you can see, though, the former No. 2 overall pick is a special floor general and passer.
