In the last several months, there has been a growing feud between Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.
It has now boiled over off the court with the two exchanging verbal jabs at each over social. The latest has come from Drummond calling out Embiid for not playing the first game of back-to-backs on Friday night against the Boston Celtics.
In response to Embiid, Drummond told me, "I mean you can't really have a conversation with a man who can't play a back-to-back… I've been playing for six years and I've missed maybe 4-5 games. So when he can play a whole season without taking a rest, he can come talk to me."

The decision for Embiid to not play in Friday's contest was likely not his choice as the 76ers are continuing to take the precautionary route with him. This had been made clear prior to the start of the season, which was much to the disdain of the 23-year-old.
That said, Drummond does hold the upper hand in this discussion as he's proven to be quite a durable player through the first six years of his career. He has only missed three games in the regular season over the last four seasons and has played in each of the first 21 games of this year.
Embiid did fire back at Drummond on Saturday morning shootaround stating that he can't shoot and the only primary coverage on him will be to protect against the lobs. The growing banter between these two big men only provides fuel to their second matchup of the season on Saturday night.
