Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy has told Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press that point guard Reggie Jackson will be ready for training camp, which starts in two weeks.

“All good with the doctors and ramping up his basketball work,” Van Gundy wrote in a text. “He'll be ready.”

Jackson recently completed a 16-week protocol of leg-strengthening exercises to aid with the chronic left knee tendinitis which he has suffered for most of his career. His inability to recover from that injury last offseason was a major reason for his, and the team’s, disappointing play.

Jackson has since ramped up basketball activities after an examination and is set to join his Pistons teammates in the practice facility later this week. However, he is not expected to practice twice when the Pistons have two sessions in a single day as they look to take extra precaution with him given his troublesome knee.

Reggie Jackson will be looking to bounce back from a poor season where he averaged just 14.5 points and 5.2 assists on 42 percent shooting in 52 games.
