“I'm a fun guy.”  These were some of Kawhi Leonard's first words as a member of the Toronto Raptors.

Following the Raptors' 106-95 road win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Leonard found time to joke about Kyle Lowry's sudden absence from Saturday night's contest.

Toronto ruled out Lowry prior to the game due to a back issue that he's probably been playing with over the past few outings.

The Raptors didn't miss Lowry's services as much as they were able to handle the lowly Cavaliers with relative ease to give them their eighth straight victory.

Leonard did say that his fellow All-Star's absence caught him off-guard. However, this didn't seem to bother the former Finals MVP at all. As usual, Leonard led the way for Toronto, dropping 34 points on 11-of-21 shooting, while adding nine rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers.

Backup point guard Fred VanVleet filled in nicely for their missing All-Star guard. Last year's Sixth Man of the Year nominee had a solid start for Lowry, notching 15 points, three rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes of action.

The Toronto Raptors boast of the league's best record right now at 20-4, their best start in franchise history. Certainly, the addition of Leonard has paid dividends so far for the Raptors, which took a risk to acquire the disgruntled forward from the San Antonio Spurs this off-season.

Following the news of the blockbuster summer trade, Lowry didn't like the fact that his best friend DeMar Derozan was shipped out of Toronto. However, with a quarter of the season done, the four-time All-Star seems to have developed a great on-and-off-the-court relationship with their new superstar acquisition.

See, Kawhi is indeed a fun guy. He just can't give you the whole spiel.
