The Kevin Durant free agency-competition may be one upped this summer by an unlikely source: an assistant coach. That would be Luke Walton, who after drawing interest from the Knicks and being the Lakers’ top pick, is now going to interview with the Rockets as well.
After being eliminated by GSW, Rockets received permission to interview asst. coach Luke Walton for coach job, sources told @TheUndefeated.

After just losing in five games to Golden State, the Houston front office is surely very familiar with Walton.
Walton may interview with the various teams interested during the break between the opening playoff series and round two. However, the Warriors have made it clear that he will not be doing any meetings while the team is in the middle of a series.
