Not many NBA players have regressed as much as Roy Hibbert over the last few years.

Hibbert was one of the best rim protectors in the NBA, pivotal to the Indiana Pacers’ success and run to consecutive Eastern Conference Finals in 2013 and 2014.

But with small ball gaining more steam across the league, Hibbert has been relegated to irrelevance.

Now he’s in random commercials where he’s playing one-on-one against a cat. And losing.

My, how the mighty have fallen.

At least the commercial is funny, if only in the sense that Roy Hibbert is for some reason in it. It’s a little reminiscent of his appearances on Parks and Recreation. Maybe that’s the next direction Hibbert’s career is going in.

Hibbert's averages were down to 5.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game last season with the Lakers. That after six straight seasons of scoring in double-digits for the Pacers.

He will get a fresh start next season, heading to the Charlotte Hornets on a one-year, $5 million deal. Maybe he can find himself there and bring Charlotte something it doesn't have.
