Dez Bryant has finally signed with a new team. The former Pro Bowl wide receiver has agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Saints, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Saints brought in Bryant, along with veterans wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Kamar Aiken for a workout Tuesday and soon after began negotiations on a deal.

The Saints have been short of options at wide receiver beyond star Michael Thomas this season. Veteran Ted Ginn Jr. is on injured reserve with a knee injury. Meanwhile, Cameron Meredith has been a complete non-factor, failing to register even a target in the last three weeks. That's left rookie Tre'Quan Smith as Drew Brees' No. 2 receiver.

The Saints will be an opportunity for Bryant to show that he still has plenty left in the tank to not only be an effective wide receiver but also prove that he can still perform at an elite level. Bryant has had a notable drop off in production over the last three seasons with the Dallas Cowboys that has seen him fail to crack 70 catches and 1,000 receiving yards in each of those campaigns. Injuries have played a part in the decline of his numbers, which has further feed into the belief that his best day could be behind him.

In fact, it has led to his detractor to state that he no longer has the same physical ability to gain separation from defenders hat is believed to limit his impact on the field. This along with his strong personality that could be deemed as being difficult to deal with at times likely played into the lack of significant interest in him over the last few months since being cut by the Cowboys.

However, this is a new situation where he has extra motivation to prove that on the field that can return to the form that made him one of the best wide receivers in the game where he had a three-year stretch from 2012-14 posting at least 88 catches for 1,200 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. Ultimately, it is an opportunity to take the field once again to demonstrate that he is still a force to reckon with in the passing game.
