The NFL was rocked by a blockbuster trade on Saturday. The New York Jets traded away superstar defensive back Jamal Adams. Adams was sent to the Seattle Seahawks, along with a fourth-round pick.

In return, the Jets got a king's ransom.

New York received safety Bradley McDougald. They also got a third-round pick in 2021 and two first-round picks (2021 and 2022).

Adams had been wanting out of New York for quite some time now. However, His ire was directly at management and the coaching staff. He had nothing but love for the rest of the team and to any and all Jets fans.

So it should come as no surprise that Jamal Adams had a heartfelt message for Jets fans after being traded, as well as an early vow to Seahawks nation.

Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk.com posted both messages.

“To the Seahawks Org & Fans,” Adams wrote on Twitter, “You have a man on a mission, a man all in on winning a Super Bowl, being the best leader & teammate he can be, & a man who will give everything he has to the city of Seattle and to the 12s all across the world. Thank you for believing in me!”

“To NY & especially the Jets fans,” Adams wrote, “I love you & will always love you. You all will hold a special place in my heart forever. When I came into the league, you embraced me & watched me grow! We went through it all together. Thank you for the Luv & support these 3 years.”

Adams has already established himself as one of the best defensive backs in football. Now that he's out of an iffy situation, he can focus solely on football. On top of that, he's finally on a team many consider legitimate Super Bowl contender.

With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that he is ready to prove himself and go for a ring.

At the same time, Jamal Adams showed plenty of love to New York. It's clear that he really does care for the fans, no matter how his time with the team ended.

Jets fans might be sad to see him go, but they should be excited about the return they got in exchange. Meanwhile, Seahawks fans have to be daydreaming about another Super Bowl run right about now.
