The No. 1 pick of this year's NBA Draft, Markelle Fultz, has had a preseason to forget, averaging only four points per game through his injury-riddled stint with the team. Despite being highly-touted out college and even having the Philadelphia 76ers trade for him prior to draft night, Fultz has been inevitably bit by the injury bug, facing soreness in his shooting right shoulder and his right knee.

The Washington standout even had to change his shooting form at the line to reduce the amount of strain, notably taking no perimeter shots throughout his last few games.

“My shoulder is the main reason why my shot’s doing that,” Fultz admitted, according to CSN Philly's Jessica Camerato.

Markelle Fultz noted he wasn't making excuses for his poor performance or for why he found himself out of the Sixers' starting lineup recently, but is rather just a process he was to deal with until he's back to 100 percent.

The Sixers have been regularly plagued with injuries to their up-and-coming stars, ranging from most recent ones to Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, to tracking back onto Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel, who have also been victims of injury early in their careers.
