American rapper and Los Angeles Lakers fan Snoop Dogg honored Kobe Bryant with a song last year for the ESPY Awards, and the tribute still gives us chills on the one-year anniversary of his death.

Check it out here if you haven't seen it, or even if you have:

It has already been a year since Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, passed away in a tragic helicopter accident that also took the lives of seven other individuals. The entire world was shaken as one of the game's legends abruptly left the world at the age of 41.

Snoop Dogg has always been a vocal fan of the Lakers as a native of Long Beach, California. He was also present when Bryant played his last game against the Utah Jazz on April 13, 2016.

The rapper made a tribute to the Lakers legend in the past after the Purple and Gold emerged victorious against the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Finals. He had a tattoo done in honor of Kobe and the team's latest championship victory.

“As you see, tat is done. KB on the bottom. Kobe Bryant. Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy with the Lakers going through the ball. Gates of heaven up top, and it don’t stop. Laker Nation. Thank y’all, Lakers,” Snoop says in the video on Instagram.

Much like the renowned rapper, Kobe Bryant's friends, colleagues, and even mere basketball fans still find it hard to accept the death of the Lakers legend up to this day. The reception toward the unfortunate news only speaks volumes about the level of impact Kobe Bryant had on many people.
