Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald secured his third AP Defensive Player of the Year award, the league announced on Saturday's NFL Honors award ceremony. By doing so, he edged out Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker TJ Watt, who also made a strong claim to bag top defensive honors.

TJ's older brother, JJ Watt of the Houston Texans, didn't particularly take his younger sibling being snubbed of the award too well. The Texans defensive linebacker, who like Donald has won three DPOY awards in his career, took to Twitter to assert his claim. He posted a side-by-side comparison of TJ Watt's and Aaron Donald's numbers this season, arguing that his brother led the NFL in nearly every major statistical category.

There's nothing like brotherly love. Biases aside, JJ Watt certainly had a valid argument.

Nevertheless, both TJ Watt and Aaron Donald were certainly deserving recipients. Donald, who has now taken home three of the last four Defensive Player of the Year awards, won the tally with 27 total votes compared to Watt's 20. Miami Dolphins cornerback received the three other votes.

TJ Watt certainly felt he should have won the award, channeling his inner Michael Jordan to express his feelings toward the snub. Perhaps this may be a sign of things to come for the coming years as he continues to wreck havoc on the defensive side.

TJ Watt led the league in multiple categories, as his brother laid out. The 26-year old tallied 15 sacks, 23 tackles for loss, and 41 quarterback hits – all of which led the league – in his 4th NFL season.
