The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering their Week 16 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on the heels of three consecutive losses. Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick recently opened up about his team's struggles, and according to the 24-year-old, it's the defense's job to provide Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger with as much opportunities as they can on the offense.

The Steelers have recorded just two takeaways over the course of their three-game losing skid, which Fitzpatrick acknowledges as one key weakness for Pittsburgh over the past few weeks:

“It’s happening for a reason. That’s definitely one of the reasons. It’s very important to create as many opportunities as we can for the offense to get the ball”, Steelers talent Minkah Fitzpatrick told reporters when he addressed the media on Thursday, via Metthew Marczi of Steelers Depot. “Even if they’re playing amazing, we still want the offense to have the ball in their hands, because when Ben has opportunities to get it in, he’s gonna get it in.”

Fitzpatrick then reiterated that the defense has to do a better job moving forward:

“It’s just our job to get it to him. It’s our job to get off the field”, the Steelers star added. “Even if it’s not a pick or a forced fumble, it’s a three and out, it gets the ball in the offense’s hands and gets us off the field. We have to be better in that area for sure”.

Fitzpatrick and Co. will look to get back to winning ways on Sunday when they take on the 10-4 Colts. It is worth noting that the Cleveland Browns are breathing down the neck of Pittsburgh, as the surging Browns sit just one game behind the 11-3 Steelers in the AFC North.
