The Pittsburgh Steelers have activated wide receiver Eli Rogers, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Rogers suffered a torn ACL in last season's playoff lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars and has not taken the field since. However, with the Steelers badly lacking depth at the receiver position, Rogers could provide them with a lift in the stretch run.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Louisville, went undrafted, but was signed by Pittsburgh as a free agent in May 2015.

Rogers spent the entire 2015 campaign on the injured reserve list, but in his second season, he was given an opportunity to flourish, playing in 13 games and hauling in 48 receptions for 594 yards and three touchdowns.

However, Rogers' production was short-lived.

Last year, the Miami native was incredibly disappointing, as he caught just 18 passes for 149 yards and a lone score in 14 games. He then proceeded to snare five balls for 42 yards against the Jaguars before going down with the injury.

The Steelers have been slipping of late.

Looking like sure bets to secure yet another AFC North title a few weeks ago, Pittsburgh has lost three straight games, most recently suffering a devastating 24-21 defeat to the lowly Oakland Raiders.

The Steelers currently sit at 7-5-1 and are holding on for dear life at the top of the division. The Cincinnati Bengals are hot in their heels at 7-6, and the schedule isn't doing Pittsburgh any favors, as it will host the New England Patriots this Sunday before heading out on the road to take on the New Orleans Saints next weekend.

Pittsburgh's final game of the season is at home against the Bengals.
