In a surprising move on Wednesday, the Cleveland Browns parted ways with cornerback Joe Haden. Rumors surfaced about the team gauging trade interest in the veteran, but to no avail with the Browns releasing him. Haden wasn't a free agent for long as it appears he's staying in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers agreeing to terms with the veteran corner.

According to NFL.com, the Steelers have signed Haden to a three-year deal

Hours after he was released by the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback agreed to a three-year, $27 million deal with the Steelers, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Haden is widely considered to be one of the best corners in the NFL. The 28-year-old is a two-time Pro Bowler and a considerable upgrade for the Steelers defense if he can stay healthy during his time in Pittsburgh.

Along with one of the most dynamic offenses in the league led by Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and Le'Veon Bell, Pittsburgh has potentially improved their chances of competing with the New England Patriots in the AFC.

Tom Brady and company are favored to go the distance once again this year with New England improving their roster on both sides of the football, but the Steelers may pose a threat if Haden can prove to be a game changer on defense.
