The Pittsburgh Steelers have had some serious problems lately after losing three straight games and falling to 7-5-1 after previously winning six straight games. A huge issue for the Steelers this season has been their lack of consistency from kicker Chris Boswell.

These issues have been disappointing especially after how extremely reliable Boswell was last season and beyond.

Boswell is no doubt having his worst season in his four year career and head coach Mike Tomlin did not rule out a kicking change ahead of this week's matchup with the New England Patriots. The Steelers have brought in kickers Kai Forbath and Matt McCrane for workouts due to Boswell's struggles.

According to Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper, “[Forbath] was 32-38 on field goals and 34-39 on extra points for Minnesota last season.” Forbath has been around the league for a long time now and is no stranger to competing for a new job.

McCrane played for the Arizona Cardinals as well as the Oakland Raiders and was 5-9 from field goal range and was a perfect 8-8 from extra point range.

Tomlin stated that rolling with Boswell is surely an option for the Steelers going forward as they may just be trying to motivate him after his recent struggles.

Boswell had won the Steelers numerous games last season and was a big part of their success. The four year kicker was awarded a nice pay day from Pittsburgh and the talent is there. He may just be solely dealing with confidence issues at this point.
