Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns went 8-0 in the bubble. Now, the All-Star shooting guard needs the Brooklyn Nets to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday evening so the Suns can take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the play-in game.

If the Blazers defeat the Nets, the Suns' stellar 8-0 bubble record will come up short, as they'll be eliminated from playoff contention.

It's undoubtedly been an incredible run for Devin Booker and the Suns in Orlando. While it would be sad if the team doesn't get the chance to compete in the play-in game despite going 8-0 in the bubble, Suns head coach Monty Williams says this whole experience has been important for the team moving forward:

“We have a standard we want to continue to raise. We have a lot to be excited about. I wanted to let them know how much I love them and appreciated them,” Williams said, per Marc J. Spears of ESPN.

Booker could win the seeding games MVP Award since he was the best player on the top team during seeding contests.

The scoring guard would without question trade that meaningless award in for a chance to play in the postseason, though. Booker is one of the best players in the league at this point, and it's a shame we haven't seen him on the brightest stage of the NBA playoffs yet.

For the first time in a decade, though, the Suns have a bright future.
