Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker became the seventh-youngest player to score 10,000 career points on Wednesday night's 115-97 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. He thinks that number should be a little bit higher, though, and he let everyone know that it's his former head coach Jeff Hornacek's fault.

It is fair to wonder how many points Booker would have if Hornacek had given him a little bit more run, but can you blame the coach for not playing a rookie Booker more than 27 minutes per game? That is a lot of minutes for a rookie, especially a 19-year-old one like he was. Obviously, you have to be able to notice greatness when you see it and that was part of the reason that Hornacek is no longer the head coach. But to put 2,000 career points on the back of your former coach is a little silly.

Not to mention, the Suns tanked the 2017-18 season to get the first pick in the 2018 NBA draft and take DeAndre Ayton and that was the season in which Booker has played the least amount of minutes of his entire career. So, if he has any gripes it should be with his organization and not his former head coach.

He probably shouldn't have any issues at all, though, as everything that happened to him and the team has led to the Suns becoming one of the best squads in the NBA. After finishing 2020-21 as the number two seed in the Western Conference, the Suns are now 27-7, good for the second-best record in the entire NBA.
