The Houston Texans made a splash move in the NFL on Thursday after choosing to fire David Culley. After just one year with the franchise, the front office chose to part ways with Culley. He did a decent job considering the state of the roster. However, it appears Houston has their eyes set on someone else to lead the team.

According to Aaron Wilson, the Texans are targeting Brian Flores, who was recently let go by the Miami Dolphins. Flores is viewed as a promising young coach with a ton of potential. He could be the perfect fit to get Houston back into playoff contention, sooner rather than later.

It's interesting to see Flores as the Texans' top candidate. Houston and Miami were rumored all year to be working up a deal to send Deshaun Watson to the Dolphins. Watson has an interest to play for Brian Flores, which is why Miami was involved in so many trade rumors.

Now, Houston looks to potentially hire Brian Flores, which could ultimately persuade Deshaun Watson to stay with the Texans. To go from likely trading away your franchise player to possibly hiring the only coach he wants to play for would be a massive move for this franchise.

We'll see how it all plays out though, as Brian Flores is one of the most sought-after coaching candidates this offseason. He was rather successful during his time with the Dolphins but was unable to make the playoffs. As for the Texans, they need quite a bit of help to become a successful franchise once again, but hiring the right coach will go a long way.
