Davonte Davis, a four-star guard prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He was previously committed to play for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

This news was relayed to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers grassroots guru Jake Weingarten.

A 6-foot-4 point guard from Arkansas, the Auburn Tigers, Oregon Ducks and Arkansas Razorbacks are all also interested in landing the young man’s services.

As for Davonte Davis, not only do all reputable recruiting service websites list the young man as a four-star caliber prospect, but most agree he’s one of the 95 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class.

That being said, some composite rankings to peg him lightly lower; though we’ll have more clarity on all of that in a few months. Also worth mentioning that the number of stars attached next to a player’s name doesn’t inherently predict future success or failure.

Nonetheless, the Texas Tech Red Raiders clearly like Davonte Davis and are hoping to do enough to bring him to the program. At the time of this writing, many believe Arkansas — home state and all — happen to be the favorite to land him.
