After missing Friday night's game against the Phoenix Suns on the road, Oklahoma City Thunder star small forward Paul George has been upgraded to probable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Mavericks, according to Erik Horne of the Oklahoman.
Paul George missed the game versus the Suns due to a right quad contusion.
Without Paul George on Friday, the Thunder were still able to take care of business against the lowly Suns, winning by a final score of 118-102. Star point guard Russell Westbrook led the way with 40 points, while Dennis Schroder — who started for George — scored 20.
OKC is 22-12 on the season, good for second place in the Western Conference standings.
Paul George is having an MVP-type season for the Thunder in his second year with the team. The swingman is averaging 26.3 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game and shooting 45.2 percent from the field, 39.0 percent from beyond the arc and 84.1 percent from the free-throw line.
George, a five-time All-Star, looks extremely comfortable playing alongside Westbrook this season and OKC has the potential of being a team that can do some damage in the playoffs.
A lot of people questioned George's decision to re-sign with OKC since the Thunder underwhelmed last year and were bounced in the first-round of the playoffs by the Utah Jazz. So far this season, though, Paul George is looking like he made the perfect decision to stay with the Thunder.
