The Rockets suffered a backbreaking 124-115 loss to the Suns on Thursday night, putting them 1.5 games behind the Jazz for the final Western Conference playoff spot with just three games remaining.
The game had one of the stranger things to happen in the NBA this season: an inbounds pass off a player's behind.
When no one stayed back to get the inbounds pass from Andrew Goudelock, and the only player in sight was an injured Josh Smith bending over facing away from the baseline, Goudelock had to improvise:
Andrew Goudelock cares not for his injured teammate ?????? pic.twitter.com/FP3O3fokAi

Pretty smart of Goudelock. Unfortunately it does not make up for the crucial loss.
James Harden said of the play and game:
'Frustrating,' James Harden said. 'That basically sums up our season.' #Rockets
