The Minnesota Vikings kickstarted the offseason by successfully winning the Kirk Cousins Sweepstakes. Since then, Cousins has wasted no time in getting to work with his new wide receivers.

The Vikings had already boasted one of the best receiving duos in the league in Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. According to Chris Tomasson the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the three have already started to build a rapport together as they met up in Atlanta:

“Stef and Adam came down and spent a couple of days together, and I thought that was productive,” Cousins said Tuesday. “More than just the football. Just to get to know one another a little and build somewhat of a foundation before we started with the whole crew.”

Cousins was able to make due with the receiving weapons he had with the Washington Redskins, as evidenced by him coming off a third consecutive 4,000-yard campaign. However, he has never had the caliber of receivers that are here in Minnesota.

Thielen managed to capitalize on his stellar 2016 campaign with his best season yet. He finished with 91 catches for 1,276 yards and four touchdowns en route to his first Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors. Meanwhile, Diggs was certainly no slouch either. He battled through injury all season to haul in 64 catches for 849 yards and eight touchdowns.

That said, it is encouraging to see the trio already starting to build their chemistry with one another. Given what each player has been able to do thus far, there is plenty of optimism that they can take it even a step further.
