The Minnesota Vikings managed to secure their franchise quarterback in Kirk Cousins this offseason. However, it appears the presence of New Orleans Saints quarterback Teddy Bridgewater still lingers within the organization.

The Vikings came up short versus the Saints on Sunday. Regardless, Cousins made sure to remind Bridgewater of his legacy in Minnesota after the game, according to Ryan Shaver of KARE 11:

Captured a pretty cool moment after the Vikings game tonight — Kirk Cousins tells Teddy Bridgewater that “everyone here speaks really highly of you…you left a good mark on the organization.”

Interactions like these are what makes Cousins one of the most likable players in the NFL. More importantly, there seems to be plenty of truth to them.

Bridgewater got off to a promising start in Minnesota and looked every bit the part of a potential franchise quarterback. Unfortunately, he was sidetracked by a devastating knee injury that nearly cost him his career. However, he managed to bounce back and made his return in the 2017 campaign as the backup to quarterback Case Keenum.

Although the Vikings may have enjoyed Bridgewater's time with the organization, it was not enough to keep him around as they opted to pursue Cousins in free agency. As a result, he signed with the New York Jets this offseason with the hopes of competing for a starting job. However, he was soon traded to New Orleans prior to the 2018 NFL season.

Bridgewater has had a rough time finding his next opportunity to prove he is still capable of leading a team. Fortunately, his promising performance in the preseason could very well garner interest after this season.
