The Minnesota Vikings can clinch a playoff berth during Week 16 a couple of different ways. If the Los Angeles Rams lose to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football, Minnesota will clinch their spot.

If the Rams beat the 49ers, the Vikings can also clinch a spot with a win against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. Minnesota also has a chance to win the NFC North, but they don't control their fate. To win the NFC North, the Vikings need to win out, and they need the Packers to lose Week 17 against the Detroit Lions.

One big question for the Vikings heading into their showdown with the Packers is if they will have star running back Dalvin Cook. Cook injured his shoulder in the Vikings' victory against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said his shoulder was feeling better on Monday, but it was still too early in the week.

“Yeah, it feels good today,” Zimmer said of Cook's injury via Kevin Patra of NFL.com. “It's too early, but the extra day helps. We'll just have to see how the week goes.”

The Vikings know they have a great chance to make the playoffs, so if Cook isn't fully healthy, it would probably be best for them to hold him back. Ensuring he is ready for the playoffs should be their top priority.

The good news for Vikings is if Dalvin Cook does miss the game, Alexander Mattison and Mike Boone have proven they can carry the load.
