McCarron's sample size is a bit small considering all that happened since he was taken with the 164th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. During that time he has thrown for just 920 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions while completing 64.7 percent of his passes.
However, it seems McCarron's body of work has indicated that he could bring some stability to the number of uncertain quarterback situations that currently exist in the NFL. That said, the Minnesota Vikings certainly fit the bill.
The Vikings had the benefit of having three competent quarterbacks on their roster for the 2017 NFL season in Case Keenum, Sam Bradford, and Teddy Bridgewater. Unfortunately, they may need to part ways with two of them this offseason for long-term salary cap purposes. Whoever Minnesota ultimately decides to stick with as their franchise signal-caller, they will need a solid backup in case their injuries woes continue at the position.
