Blizzard Activision has just announced that they're planning to reveal a brand new game in the Warcraft universe for mobile devices very soon. While not much is known about this new title, such as what genre it will be, they have assured users that the game will be an authentic Warcraft experience, built from the ground up.

In a blogpost made over on their official Warcraft website, only a few lines of text could be seen stating the following:

“The Warcraft® universe continues to capture imaginations across the globe with enlightening experiences and immersive gameplay, that are the foundation for World of Warcraft and Hearthstone. We are happy to present a new mobile game for the heroes of Azeroth looking to play on the go, and we can’t wait to get it into your hands.”

As mentioned before, very few details regarding this new game have been known, so speculation has been going wild. While a mobile rendition of the Warcraft real-time strategy games would be the most obvious choice, a full-on Warcraft MMORPG on mobile would also be a huge statement for the mobile gaming scene. Of course, they could possibly be making a Warcraft turn-based RPG or MOBA, but no one except the minds at Blizzard Activision knows for sure.

The overall public reception to the announcement has been fairly positive, while some criticisms have been noted. While fans are interested in seeing what Blizzard Activision has come up with, a few others have openly reminded the company of their last mishap with mobile games, as Diablo Immortal still serves as one of the biggest botched announcements in gaming history, as revealing a mobile game for an audience of primarily PC users isn't the most convincing sell. Hopefully, the reveal of this new title will not cause a repeat of unfortunate events.

The Warcraft mobile game will be revealed on May 3rd, 2022 at 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST. Users can catch the reveal over at https://reveal.blizzard.com/en-us/.
