There's always a story behind each player's jersey number. For Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson, he claims that the number 11 is is “life number.”

The Warriors shooting guard recently opened up about his choice to pick the No. 11 for his jersey number. As it turns out, this decision goes way back to when he was drafted by Golden State more than a decade ago:

“I was drafted 2011,” Thompson said, via NBA on Twitter. “I was the No. 11 pick. ‘K' is the 11th number in the alphabet. I think 11 is just my life number, it just continues to follow me. I just think it's a great number. Eleven for the win.”

No. 11 has been working wonders for Thompson throughout his Warriors career. Right now, he's on the brink of winning the fourth NBA championship of his career.

Thompson helped the Warriors to a 104-94 win over the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night, and they are now just one win away from the title. Klay Thompson has been integral in the Dubs' championship run this season, and he's hoping to help his team back to glory after a brutal two-year injury hiatus.
