Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been one of the staunchest critics of the NBA's play-in tournament. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, however, has a completely contradictory opinion about the hot topic, and what the Dubs coach had to say probably won't sit well with The King.

While the Play-In Tournament format has generally been received with negativity, coach Kerr is actually all for it:

“I love it,” he said, per 95.7 The Game via Scott Polacec of Bleacher Report. “The last month's been infinitely more interesting for NBA fans. It's great. If you finish 7th and you lose two straight, then you probably weren't good enough to advance in the playoffs anyway. That's just the truth.”

For a bit of context, LeBron did not mince words when he shared his thoughts on the Play-In Tournament. According to the four-time NBA champ, he firmly believes that “whoever came up with that s**t needs to be fired.” Clearly, coach Kerr thinks otherwise.

It is interesting to note that right now, it's actually the Lakers and the Warriors who are in the seventh and eighth spots in the Western Conference, respectively. So was coach Kerr actually taking a bit of a shot at LeBron and the Lakers when he referenced the seventh seed in his message?

This obviously adds another layer to the Warriors-versus-Lakers narrative, which incidentally, is looking like this season's most anticipated Play-In matchup. Interesting. Very interesting.
