Zaza Pachulia is happy to be back with the Golden State Warriors.

Pachulia won back-to-back titles with the Dubs in 2017 and 2018 before signing with the Detroit Pistons for the 2018-19 season. This 2019 offseason, however, the 35-year-old big man decided to call it a career and instead re-joined the Warriors in an advisory capacity.

The Georgian center has no qualms about the abrupt ending of his playing career, telling Logan Murdock of NBC Sports that he is, in fact, “excited” to work Golden State's front office.

“It's great to be back,” Pachulia said. “So many familiar faces. Today's my first day in the office in my new job, so I'm very excited.”

Far from a ring-chaser, Pachulia was instrumental in the Warriors' two championships in the past three years, serving as a hulking enforcer in the middle while also muscling some of the opposing bigs in the playoffs. Of course, Pachulia is also infamous for his undercutting closeout on Kawhi Leonard in 2017, which basically altered the course of NBA history.

Pachulia will likely not be doing as much dirty work as he did during his playing days in Golden State’s front office, but his return to the Warriors as a consultant makes perfect sense.
