As the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics face off on Tuesday night in the NBA Play-in Tournament, two of the brightest stars on each team are more familiar with one another than any of us thought.

Bradley Beal, who is just four years older than Jayson Tatum, shared a special connection he had with the Celtics forward from when they were kids. Little did the Wizards superstar know that Tatum would now be going head to head with him in the NBA.

This is actually wild. Tatum was a youngster and Beal's mom was literally coaching his mother in volleyball. Crazy stuff.

The Wizards meanwhile have been on a roll lately. They've won 17 games since April 7th, which is the most in the NBA during that span. Beal and Westbrook have been on a tear and they'll be looking to expose a weak Celtics defense on Tuesday evening.

Tatum won't have his right-hand man Jaylen Brown by his side after he underwent season-ending surgery last week. The former Duke standout will certainly have a tough task with the surging Wizards, especially considering the C's have been severely depleted lately with the likes of Marcus Smart and Kemba Walker out in past games.

Whether Tatum actually remembers Beal essentially babysitting him as a child, this is still a very cool story. They're now both on the biggest stage and ready to battle it out for a spot in the postseason.
