Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal has zero plans of asking for a trade from his team. That’s what his agent, Mark Bartelstein, has reiterated following rumors of the hot-shooting guard wanting out of the nation’s capital via a trade, per Candace Buckner of the Washington Post.

Just spoke with Bradley Beal's agent, Mark Bartelstein, re: the report that cites a source who says Beal wants out of Washington. Bartelstein strongly denies the report.

Buckner adds:

Bartelstein on the Beal report: “That is absolutely not true. The only sources that would know Brad thinking’s are Brad and myself. And Brad’s focus is 100% on helping the #Wizards play consistent, winning basketball.”

In an earlier report, Chris Sheridan of Sheridan Hoops divulged that Bradley Beal had already expressed his desire to get shipped out of Washington, though, that’s now been squashed by Bartelstein.

Regardless of who’s telling the truth here, it’s undeniable that the situation in Washington has gradually grown untenable due to their glaring struggles on the floor and reported locker room bickering. Until things trend positively for the Wizards, rumors of a looming rebuild and roster blow-up will persist.

Beal is generally viewed as the tastiest asset that the Wizards could dangle in the trade market, especially with no one seemingly interested in touching John Wall’s expensive contract.

The 25-year-old Beal is playing on a five-year, $127.2 million contract he signed back in 2016 with Washington.
