Davis Bertans is re-signing with the Washington Wizards on a five-year deal worth $80 million, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Bertans is one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA and the Wizards made it a point to re-sign him since he's a good fit next to All-Stars Bradley Beal and John Wall.

During the 2019-20 regular season, Davis Bertans averaged 15.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 42.4 percent from beyond the arc and 85.2 percent from the free-throw line. He made 200 shots from 3-point range.

Bertans didn't play in the NBA restart for the Wizards since he wanted to protect his body for free agency. That move worked, as the sharpshooter is getting paid.

Washington didn't make the 2020 playoffs. Wall missed the entire 2019-20 season rehabbing his Achilles injury. Beal played like a superstar but his efforts weren't enough. The Florida product didn't join the Wizards in the NBA bubble either so he could rest his shoulder.

The Wizards are hoping that Beal, Wall and Bertans can lead the franchise back to the playoffs during the 2020-21 season. By all accounts, Wall is fully recovered from his injury, though it's worth mentioning he's been involved in some trade rumors with the Houston Rockets.

Bertans is a career 41.1 percent shooter from deep. He's going to make a lot of 3s for the Wizards in 2020-21. The season will start on Dec. 22.
